Terms & conditions

The ground rules for using this site — including how you're welcome to share our toolkits.

Effective date: July 10, 2026

Welcome to dyslexia-institute.com (the "Site"), operated by Dyslexia Institute ("we," "us"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

1. Educational information — not professional advice

Content on this Site is general information for educational purposes. It is not legal advice, medical or psychological advice, or a diagnosis. Laws vary by jurisdiction and change frequently; every child's situation is unique. Always consult qualified professionals — a licensed evaluator, your school team, or a special education attorney or advocate — about your specific circumstances.

2. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to: interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or harvest personal data, or use content to train commercial products without permission. We may suspend access that violates these Terms.

3. Membership

Membership is currently free. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your contact details current. We may modify or discontinue membership benefits with reasonable notice.

4. Intellectual property

The Site's original content, logo, and design are owned by Dyslexia Institute and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may share and reproduce our toolkits and info sheets for non-commercial educational and advocacy purposes with attribution ("Source: Dyslexia Institute, dyslexia-institute.com"). Commercial use requires written permission. Photographs may be subject to third-party licenses.

5. Third-party links and services

The Site links to third-party resources and tools (such as Mailchimp and external organizations). We're not responsible for third-party content, products, or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything an organization does.

6. User submissions

If you send us a story, feedback, or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use them to further our mission — but we will never publish a personal story without your explicit written consent. Don't submit content you don't have the right to share.

7. Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard for accuracy but make no warranties that content is complete, current, or error-free, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dyslexia Institute will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the Site (currently $0). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects consumers' statutory rights.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Dyslexia Institute against claims arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Utah], USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in [Utah] have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection law gives you the right to proceed in your home jurisdiction. (Confirm your preferred state with counsel.)

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; the effective date above will change and continued use constitutes acceptance.
